since you fix pc's for a living maybe you can help me out....i have been burning some cd's for our friend the general but it seems that all of a sudden i can't burn a disk on my desktop.

what happens is it writes the disk to like 98% and then it kicks it out and says could not write and asks me if i want to retry but i will need another disk.

i have never had a problem before and i am using sonic as that is what came with the desktop....

have you any ideas.?

what i have to do now is load songs onto my flash drive, put them on the laptop and then burn them from there and it is a pain in my balls. i don't like keeping music and lots of files on my laptop....

so any thoughts on why my burner will all of a sudden not burn.

What program are you using to burn the discs?

Have you tried clearing your temporary files cache? There might be a problem there. Alternatively you could try using Nero instead, to see if it's a problem with the program (which might be harder to fix) or if there's a problem with your drive.

My bet is it's something to do with the program. Sonic is from Roxio, right? I hate Roxio...

dang you can burn CD's ? I have been using this handy cup holder for years... damn it!!!


I found when I cant burn CD's or gets to like 90% and fails.. Might be that your CD rom is having issues, and might need to be replaced.

And always take out CD in the CD rom after you are done..
leaving a CD in the computer over night can be harmful.

The temp files could cause memory problems leading to the failed burn.


I'm with the bitch on this one. Use Nero, winamp or even Media Player to burn. Roxio is the devil and should be uninstalled immediately.



Oh yea, you never answered me, how is the arabic coming??

the arabic is not coming....the file didn't work..
i never thought to use media player to burn.....i'll just do that from now on out
