Yes I like it here:) Its a good change to be able to freely express ourselfs within reason! Sometimes topics and subject matter can tug at our emotions..

WE are all human after all.. This is what makes the world go round..
The chance to freely express ones self..
Even if some stuffy shirt might get all up in arms..

I feel keeping this place small and tight is the trick..

No need to make this place like other places on the web..
I like having a personal tight group that knows where we are mostly comming from..

Like with a Band.. the tighter the better everything sounds!

I think it can be successfful. For it to be successful though you do need a diversity of opinion. I could post here forever just chatting with you guys but for it to be a truly successful discussion forum there has to be members who have opposite pov on a variety of subjects, who wants to discuss topics that are important to you and never have any dissenting opinions, it would soon get boring i reckon and you would never learn anything new. I dont mean members who believe that aliens pick them up once a week to take quick trips out to the kuiper belt. :D
I think it would be great to eventually have some members here that would be willing to discuss religion (im sure the General would like that too) people who believe in alternative history so i can argue away, skeptics and believers from all the different topics here are needed.
70 members so far in a couple of months, sure some havent posted and may never return but its slowly building and once enough people know about it i think it will grow. It does have a totally different feel to other forums that discuss similar topics.

With some hardcore posters (GM,Mojo,TPM,ect.) and a strong sence of community I think we will do fine. With the more lax rules and more laid back atmosphere I think it could go places! From past experiance with forums, it realy is all about the member base and who could complain with ours! :)

I have had a good deal of experience with forums of my own and managing/moderating others and I feel that we are off to a GREAT start for a site that has basically only been spread via word of mouth.

If I were able to purchase some advertising, I'm sure we'd grow like crazy but, for the time being, I dig the word of mouth advertising as it is helping to establish a solid little community.

I couldn't ask for a better group of "originals" and I thank all of you for joining and making AmKon yours. That's what it's all about after all.



As a side note, I hope this motherfucker gets HUGE as I could use the ad revenue. MWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

same here. i have had two forums of my own that were pretty successful. i actually sold one to two of the members and it is still going strong...
i've been doing this forum thing for a LONG time....
