Ok, a place for users to discuss gigs they have dates for and reviews of gigs they've recently been to. And just anything to do with live music.

So, anyway, bit quiet for me for a while, but I have the great Radiohead to see in June in manchester. A big open field in the summer - brings back memories of Dublin in 2006.

Sweet!

going to Melbourne to see Ozzy in march. I had to choose between going to see Ozzy or going to see Iron Maiden in Sydney.
Ive seen Maiden 3 times in the 80's so Ozzy it is.
i go and see a local band here at least once a month, usually one of my mates metal bands.
but next week 2 other mates are dj'ing an outdoor gig in the city, lots of arts and craftys and music and outdoor performers and shit.
should be sick, i shall be friends with mdma once again, or not.

Heh, I'm virtually immune to the stuff now.

Anyway, great, another gig-lover :D

I live in a real bummer of a place at the moment, no real music scence. So I'm lucky to hit a handful of gigs a year. Seen Bloc Party in december, t'was my son's birthday, and he's a big fan. Before that was the Manic Street Preachers.

Both excellent gigs. I'm sort of mad for live music, it's probably the closest I get to 'spiritual' experiences, heh.

So how was iron maiden all them years ago? Must have been during their prime then.

Saw them on the Powerslave and Killer tours, awesome.
got to meet dave Murray after a show in Canberra, really nice bloke.

Ive always wanted an "Eddie" tattoo just never got around to it, maybe one day.

the local music scene here is pretty good we just dont get a lot of the big acts that come down under, they usually just play the East coast, hence the trip to melbourne to see Ozzy.

Some of the most enjoyable and memorable concerts ive seen have been little known bands anyway.

A few that stand out are in no particular order, The Saints, Lime Spiders, Mudvayne, metallica (justice for all tour), chilli peppers, system of a down, the Cult, the Hard Ons, the Melvins, flotsam jetsom, jesus and mary chain, hunters and collectors, cold chisel, living end and a heap of other local bands you've probably never heard of.

:D love my music.

First (and only) gig I ever went to was back in 2004. Incubus was performing. I'm picky about these things. From videos I've watched, Incubus sounds awesome live. It's like they get their energy from the crowd. And that's why I went. It was awesome, will never forget it.

That why I'll be going for the Sunburst KL International Music Festival 2008 (http://www.sunburstkl.com.my/v1/) on the ides of March. Incubus will be performing again, same place as the last. I think this time I will bring along three or four crates of bottled water, and maybe a crate of beer -- I don't drink, but I want to see if I can recoup some of the ticket cost. It's like four times more expensive, on account of there being so many performers this time. I only really want to go to see Incubus perform.

Yeah.. I'm not so hardcore. Incubus fan. Sue me.

I've bought the tickets for Sunburst! Pretty excited about it. First time going to a gig with my sisters. They're old enough for that sort of thing now :D
