I have had post nasal drip all winter from one cold or another.

I'm getting sick of it. No pun intended.

I wake up in the morning and it's like there's slugs in my throat. I have to make these horrible noises and gag for what seems like forever to get myself clear.

I was on antibiotics last week for a nasty cold's residuals, and I STILL have PND.

Does snot have any nutritional value? Enough of it's running down my throat, I hope that there's a silver lining.

Yes. It contains semi-dead bacteria trapped by lysosomes (cellular body-bags). It will give your macrophages (a cousin of the white blood cells) something to practice on, if the lysosomes haven't finished the bug up yet. Kinda like how vaccines work.

It should be noted that the lysosomes also contain lots of digestive enzymes. So I guess it will give you better digestion, too. Maybe.

Salt water up the snot locker. Works every time. As interesting as snorting salt water sounds, my doc put me on antibiotics and voila! Snot B gone. Plus the uber powerful antihistamine.

I think it's the damn flowering trees at the moment. Our back yard has cherry and mulberry trees, several of them, enough to turn my dark silver car yellow from the pollen.

I wouldn't doubt that has a lot to do with my discomfort.
