In all seriousness, the OLP rule at the other site always baffled me.

What says "I couldn't agree more. In all honesty, I have felt that way for quite some time. Believe it or not, I was actually a skeptic for a LOONNNNGGGGG time until one of my peeps here opened my eyes to the treachery" better than "INDEED!"??

Too many rules. It seemed OK until I left. Now it seems really restrictive.

But can you imagine the quality of some of the one line posts if they didn't have that rule?

I still don't understand what about it got people baffled. It's fairly well explained. It's an okay rule, and I think most (if not all) of the rules in their T&C are good.

What and how it is enforced might be a different matter..

lol, i cant believe the amount of times i thought i had a stunning one line come back but was never able to use it for fear of getting a sticker.

mind you my idea of a stunning one liner and someone elses is probably way apart. hehe

As with many baffling rules, the enforcement (or lack thereof) was the root cause of the befuddlement.

I understand (and agree with) the rule in a sense of keeping stuff like "whatever!" from clogging the forums. However, MANY MANY MANY threads on that site were easily answered/discussed with one line posts.

It seems that the only ones that were allowed to stay were those of the "spam" variety.

I don't get what you're bitching about -- I regularly use one liners without any problems.

It's actually quite simple -- one liners on topic is okay. One liners off-topic is only okay when no one is looking. It's not that hard. If you want to be a bad boy, make sure you're not fool enough to get caught. Else it's just stupid.

I've skirted the T&C plenty, but I do it smart. I've even attacked others, but I do it smart. Subtle. Don't emulate the idiot lions. Follow the ways of a leopard. Strike when no one is looking. Lion-style bravado only works when you've got a group backing you. Else do it like ninja cats.

Ninja cats!

Unfortunately, if they've got it in for you, you can't get away with anything. I think sometimes that someone was assigned to read everything I wrote because I was too "volatile."

I am with BK on this one. I have used one liners plenty of times and never got warned or points away. They were alway on topic. I never used anything like "whatever". I alway hit back in a way that fell within the T&C, but got my point across, WAY across. I do understand what it is for, and I agree with what the spirit of the rule, but the unequal application of the rule is what gets me.

Meh is all I have to say to that. Realy its not that hard to but a little thought into your posts and just add another line or two. Sure I don't put thought into a damn thing I do, but hey...don't be like me lol 8)
