In early H&C days they would set up stage as a ship complete with rigging, and he would wear a very manly singlet and crawl around the rigging all night sounding a lot more angry and guttoral than the later R&B incarnation.

They were from memory a 12- or 13- piece first time I saw them.

He was a man's man, not a ladies' man. He wimped out.

yeah i saw them quite a few times back in the early 80's. A mate of mine played percussion on a fire extinguisher on a track from their first album i think. Max. Bit of a tripper.
Yeah they had a full horn section back then. A great sound.
Ice house was doing the rounds as well, the Angels ( i met Doc a year or two ago at the West Adelaide Football Club). Lots of great bands.
