Several dozen people — including a pilot, county constable and business owners — insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it.

"People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it's the end of times," said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. "It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts."

I always love these types of sightings.

Much like the "Phoenix Lights" episode. You haves 100s (1000s??) of people witness what they say is "definitely NOT any form of "known" aircraft only to have "officials" insist that those 100s or 1000s of ppl were just "mistaken"

"A mile long and half a mile wide". Thats a seriously big UFO.
How populated is this area in which it was seen, something
that size would be able to be seen for miles.

If I remember correctly that is not a very populated area of Texas. Miles and miles ( km and km for our friends over seas) of not much of anything.

Yes this day and age, with cameras everywhere how in the hell can these "sightings" happen and no picture be taken? I just dont get it, and if there is a picture it looks like whoever took the damn thing was being chased by a pack of wild dogs, all blurred and shit. I try to maintain the thought, that I dont know anything for sure, but Jesus you would think by now someone would get a decent picture of a craft, or of the little green fuckers that abduct them. It would sure make it easier to believe that something out of this world is going on.
