Worshipping Celebrities as Gods

I could have put this in the movies/ Tv/or music forums..but I thought here would encompass all.
Why are we being programmed/ conditioned to worship celebs as gods? Is it to keep us from focussing on the REAL issues in life?
After being in the room with celebs and being completely unfazed by it all...I do not understand why people go gaga over seeing someone in person they have seen on TV.

However, that being said..as for musicians,and my fav bands, I feel the opposite.
When at a concert for my fav band, only a few rows back from the stage..I was a screaming mess! Totally entranced.Chalk that up to the mass effect of a concert atmosphere?Or just my 23 year desire to see them live?

Well FS I have a couple opinions on this subject. It could be that the powers that be want to brain wash us into good little sheeple so that we do not get in thier way. Another one of my crazy ideas is that "NWO" wants to eraticate religion all together and use these popular people to take our minds off of what realy important, faith;hope; and love. I know im crazy....

Thats not crazy.I believe it could be a bit of both.
It's all in the media hype they throw at us.
If they want us to focus on celebs, that is what is on every channel. If they want you to focus on war, it is breaking news on every channel.
I don't give a rats ass about Britney Spears
but her damn face is on every fucking channel.
I got more important things to worry about.
I refuse to be a sheep.

Once again amen sister! Another thing that gets to me is how they (celebs) can get away with things that you or I would get tased (lol) or thrown away for! I mean for God sakes, most of these clebs are insane, they should be locked away in an asylum....

Too true. Most celebs are batshit. If any of us did even half the stuff that Britney's done we'd be institutionalized or burned at the stake.

As far as celebrity worship goes.....I do think that they are sort of a diversion for the sheeple,but also sort of set up as demigods for the masses.

Sort of like the Greek pantheon of Gods.Some were mortals that claimed divinity and got a huge "cult" or religious following around them,which is pretty much what happens with celebrities these days I reckon.
